Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI agree whole heartedly that Photo books have a number of advantages over the old “stick in a bunch of prints.” One that my mother-in-law particularly related to me is that the photos can not be slipped out and taken away. After creating her photobook through Blurb.com, she cried for 15 minutes when I gave it to her for her 72nd birthday. My wife also provided a few poems she had written over the years about her mom and grandmother. When I came up with the idea to make this book for her, my wife and I drove up to visit and take her aunt and mom to the state fair. The whole idea of going to the state fair was to take the most current photos I could of everyone to put in the book. It turned out so well I used one of the photos as the cover for the book. I am currently shooting photos of our pet Min Pins to create a dog book and I must shoot hundreds of shoots a week trying to get that one shoot that captutres their different personalities. I get down on the floor right at their level and they seem to look right into the camera. Because there is no waste of film with a digital camera shooting 50 or 60 shots in a evening is nothing. Some evening there’s nothing and then out of nowhere there’s that one perfect shot! They’re talking to the lens and I’ve caught it! When you see it on the monitor you know you’ve got it and the feeling is awesome.
