If you need a second monitor but do not want the cost of upgrading a PCs video card, then the StarTech dual display adapter is the perfect solution.
With the adapter, it can be used on both desktop units as well as laptops to add the second monitor with ease, while giving the user the option to display multiple applications at once compared to the limited space on single monitor.
Users will need to run the included CD to install the necessary drivers and then restart the computer and follow the setup instructions. Once this is completed, the adapter plugs into a computers USB 2.0 port, with no need to open the computers case. When connected, it turns it into a VGA port since the opposite end of the unit has a connection for a monitors VGA cable or a projector. Monitors will be supported resolutions up to 1280×1024 in 16-bit color.
There is no power adapter needed for the device, which works only on Windows based PCs.

This is a small external box that connects to your system’s VGA or DVI output and lets you plug in two monitors. You can run different applications on each monitor, or view one application across both monitors.
It allows resolutions up to 1920×1200 in 32-bit color, works with PC or Mac, and provides great performance across all monitors, including 3D and video applications.
